NaNoWriMo

I’m going to be pushing myself and trying to do NaNoWriMo.  It’s a writing challenge to write a novel of 50 000 words in November. I don’t expect to actually finish with a publishable novel but just writing with improve my style and skills.

I created a set of polls, in order to get started I want your help deciding what to write. Not any details just Genre and tone for now. I’ll make more polls on Wednesday for some extra clarifications and some more on Friday for Character names and attitudes. Then on Saturday I’ll start writing. I’ll post the results here either daily or weekly with a word count.

Wish me luck and please comment and vote.

Thank you

  1. Jsut write what comes to you on november 1st and continue along that vein. Really, if it ends up being a humorous look at post-apocalyptic high magitek in a crapsack world, it’s still gonna be interesting. I have no idea what I’ll be doing for NaNoWriMo, but I’m sure it’ll be something.

  3. Hey Eric, I think it’s wonderful that you want and are going to write a novel. However, my imput on the Genre and tone for your novel could/would not be of very big insight, as my creativity is non-existant. I admire your love for English-I wish I felt the same…I want to shoot myself in the foot everytime I have to go to English class…enough of that now…GoodLuck on writting your Novel, I’m sure you will end up with a magnificent work of art!

  5. Eric, write what you know best. Then you’ll never be short of ideas. And, since you’re cute and silly and enjoy fantasy so much… go with it!

  7. Thank you all for your opinions. I haven’t put anything on the list that I don’t want to write and I will most likely have a little of everything in it. I’m just using this to get a feel for what I want and what to do.

  11. Write about what you know; or about what you would like to know more about and then research it so you are back to writing about what you know.
