Hi,
I love winter. It’s my second favourite season but the one I feel healthiest during. (Fraking allergies) I also much prefer being cold than being hot.
This morning I’m at a presentation/training/promo for forms given by Adobe. Should be interesting.(no sarcasm)
I had a big crisis of faith this week about the first Elizabeth novel. The publisher that had unofficially said they’d publish it if I get it cleaned up, only publishes their novels in American English.
The fact that this freaked me out should tell you how sensitive authors can be about their work. Thankfully I asked a few friends and they told me that it wasn’t a big deal and I should be happy about maybe possibly hopefully getting a publishing deal.
I think my worry was all about the amount of effort I put into making sure I was using proper Canadian style.
I have a feeling today will be a good day. I was skating late (the side walks are all ice) when I saw my father in-law and he gave me a ride.
So this post is brought to you by my father in-law.
Do you have a preference between Canadian, American, and British English?
Éric
Canadian English, definitely. “Color” makes me shudder.
Agreed
I’m a stickler for British English… which ought to surprise no one. I’ve since learnt to calm down about spelling, but the absent ‘u’s make my eyes twitch. That and ‘tire’ instead of ‘tyre.’ Only, that one makes me giggle because Canadian Tire will always be Canadian Weary (or fatigue or any other synonym for the word tire).
Tyre looks so strange to me.
